Evening twilight over UC Berkeley (Cal) campus, shot from the Berkeley hills.

I was working an assignment for a website to get this shot, but as luck would have it, this time of year is when the summer fog rolls in over the hills most evenings just after sunset. On five prior attempts, i came away empty handed, that is, unable to see San Francisco on the horizon due to fog, or completely socked in in Berkeley. The unexpected rainstorm Monday night was telling me the clouds might break and the visibility might be good for the next evening's sunset.

I met up with a fellow photographer on this evening to climb some hills above the campus to find a good spot. I must say, shooting photos in the summer is so much more pleasant than in winter. Those exposed hillsides can get very cold and windy at times, but this night was just lovely.
