Pre-sunrise sky at La Perouse Bay in South Maui. I woke up too late to make the 1.5hr trek around the Maui upcountry to get to a sunrise over water, so instead decided to drive as far south as I could get (otherwise the morning sun is behind Mt Haleakala for a long time).
Well, I didn't count on the number of overnight campers at some of the beaches due to the mild temps and soothing sounds of the surf. I ended up having to clone a large camper trailer out of this photo.
Nevertheless, it was a wonderful morning. I even removed my boots and waded out on the rough a'a lava to frame up my shot.
