From the Big Island of Hawai'i, lush vegetation in the Waipi'o Valley. This spot is a must see - rent the 4WD vehicle and make the harrowing descent in the slick mud down to the valley floor. I found myself completely alone on this morning, save for a few local kids surfing at the beach, and several wild horses, one of which was standing behind me as I shot this photo.
Those tiny white specks against the distant ridge are seemingly endless flocks of birds that dotted the tropical landscape with their pristine white glow.
