Just after sunrise at Whittington Beach Park on the windward coast of the big island of Hawai'i. There is nothing peaceful about the relentless exploding surf battering this eastern shore near the southern tip of the island.
I drove 2+ hours around the island, got lost, dealt with a rainstorm, etc...but found this place just before sunrise and it was beautiful.
