3-Mile Slough Bridge

3-Mile Slough Bridge

From this evening at the recently painted 3-Mile Slough Bridge along the California Delta, I picked the wrong night to take a hike along the island perimeter. Hoping the storm clouds would break, they suddenly let loose and went full torrent on me without warning. I left my tripod in place down at the water's edge and ran up under a metal structure next to a tree to take cover (kids, that is the last place to wait out a storm). There were spiderwebs but I brushed them all away with my forehead and ears, apparently. Eeeek.
As luck would have it, the storm continued over and some light broke through just behind the bridge, so I was happy to snap my 13-sec exposure and call it a day.
Even the bridge operator stepped out for a minute to wonder why I was out there, squatting along the riverbank. He may have thought I fell from the bluff above...which is something I have certainly done before, and on this very island. (read about it here: flic.kr/p/G1S4RC)
Lens is the DFA 25mm f/4 on the 645Z. I used a circular polarizer to get a couple extra stops of exposure time for the streaking clouds.
