From Sherman Island

From Sherman Island

I made a quick run last evening to Sherman Island in the California Delta, hoping to see a blast of colors after sunset. A lowish tide led me to one of my favorite little secret spots, known to me only as "57L". Donning my rubber waders, I walked a bit out into the river and set up shot behind this hulk of a dead tree and a row of pilings. There was once a grand fishing pier here and in other spots nearby, that have in time fallen into the river as the bluff edges collapsed.
Were the mosquitoes biting? You betcha. Despite the shelter in place order, Californians have nevertheless taken to the Delta to enjoy some outdoor activities, such as fishing, as evidenced by the many parked cars all along this and adjacent islands.
In the end some nice muted pastel tones to tie a ribbon on the day's end.
I hope you like it.
