From early this morning at McWay Falls, Big Sur. Sirius was creating its own shine on the water as it set quietly in the west. Bands of pink and purple on the horizon could only be seen by my camera, as such a dim scene appeared colorless to my inadequate human vision.
i think it was the moonless night with no extraneous ambient sources that allowed less bright objects to dominate the scene, and in a big way.
I have intentionally left the overall image fairly dim, as it would make no sense to push the exposure. For that, please press L now to view it in lightbox mode.
