Palm Tract Lavalicious
We've had several consecutive days of amazing sunrises and sunsets around here. Tonight was looking to have some sky potential, so I ran out to nearby Palm Tract, one of my favorite places to find a flooded cornfield, perfect to create a mirror reflection of the sky.
I can say without hesitation, every mosquito in the delta surrounded me and at one point, I abandoned my rig and hiked back to the car for my bug repellent. I found myself dousing myself in spray every couple of minutes and I still don't believe it kept those vile blood suckers off me. My hands and legs are still inflamed from last night's bug fest at Deer Ridge, and now even my mosquito bites have mosquito bites.
Well at some point, I stopped noticing mosquitoes as the epic sky burn fired up and stayed alight for a good half hour. Color me happy.
