Stone House & Marsh Creek
I suppose if clear starry nights were such a usual occurrence here in east Contra Costa County, I would live in a house with no roof too, lol. I can only imagine how the original inhabitants of this abode once lived in peace among the rolling California hills.
I have been planning this shot for a few weeks and waiting for the right opportunity to get out there to catch it. My good friend, Todd A joined me on an adventure through Round Valley Regional Park. We had a little trouble crossing Marsh Creek here to get to the far bank, and both of us dipped our feet in the water and sticky mud, but 'twas a small price to pay in the end.
Lens is the tiny DA21, roughly the size of a stack of two OREO cookies. Nevertheless, it works handily as a wide view astro lens. I used the Pentax O-GPS1 hotshoe mounted accessory to track the stars, allowing for this 2 minute exposure without trailing. I lightpainted the exterior of the house with a flashlight, and Todd was inside with a red light. Thanks Todd!
Thanks for looking.
