Big Red Swamp
From this morning in the Twichell Island Slough, I was chasing the light and had to encroach upon several duck hunters in the adjacent flooded fields, who waved me off, but I was counting on their puny birdshot to lack the range to properly dissuade me.
I brought my rubber wading boots, but in the end found a couple of firm posts in the water upon which to set up my tripod legs. I ain't gonna lie, this water is as smelly as it looks.
Later, while I was framing up my shot, a beaver swam at me, got close, then turned and smacked its tail to splash water at me. He did this several times and later I figured out he was guarding several pups playing in the stream on the other side of the levee. They got away quick when they spotted me.
Lens is the D FA35mm f/3.5 on the 645Z.
Thanks.
